Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Gondar to Sankaber Camp (3,250m)

Drive from Gondar to Debark for trekking permits before entering Simien Mountains National Park. Begin with an easy introductory hike along the dramatic northern escarpment, offering spectacular views of the surrounding lowlands and opportunities to encounter Gelada baboons before reaching Sankaber campsite.

Day 2: Trek from Sankaber to Gich Camp (3,600m)

Follow the escarpment eastward across the Kaba Valley toward the impressive Gich Abyss. Stop to admire the spectacular Jinbar Waterfall before continuing through barley fields and mountain scenery to the remote village of Gich. End the day with a sunset walk to Kedadit viewpoint.
